Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes, knees and toes. Wait, what was that? Toes you said? Ever since you were a child, it has been important to keep those toes and feet comfortable, warm and fashionable. Now is not the time to break that streak. The socks are one important area to not overlook. No matter what your style may be, there are options out there for you, whether you’re the kind of guy that likes to keep it simple, or the gent who thinks the socks should be an added element of flare. Here are a few options to keep your toes covered, and in one instance, keep it bare!

Yeah, there’s pretty much no need to look further than these two sites if you’re looking for amazing socks at an amazing price. There are patterns, colors, and styles for days.

http://www.happysocks.com/us/

Of course you can always step up your game into some more fashionable and higher quality socks, like those made by Paul Smith:

Or you can always take it to that place that some are daring enough to try: No Socks!

You, a very wise man indeed, would never just stroll into an Audi dealership and pick up an A4 without previously researching all the specs, and you therefore will NOT do the same with a ring. Here is the guide to help you become an all-knowing ring master.

The 4 C’s are COLOR, CUT, CLARITY, and CARAT. These words, in relation to a wedding/engagement ring refer to the diamond.

Color: Though Zales commercials may try and have you believe differently, most diamonds have some color in them. The color grade refers to the amount of color in a diamond.

Cut: this is NOT the shape of the diamond (we will go over that later). The cut is the most important aspect to consider when purchasing a diamond. The cut, if done properly, can hide flaws and enhance sparkle. The better the cut, the brighter the sparkle.

Clarity: the higher clarity a diamond has, the fewer imperfections or flaws it has.

Carat (Ct.): unit of measurement of diamonds, or more plainly put, the size of the rock

Another important thing to keep in mind is SHAPE. If all of the things listed above were the quality of denim in a pair of jeans, the shape is the style. Here are some shapes you will encounter in your effort to become Lord of the Ring:

Round: shockingly enough, a circle
Princess: plainly said, a square
Emerald: a rectangular shape with rounded edges
Marquise: a long, oval shape with pointed ends
Oval: an oval
Radiant: a square with rounded edges
Pear: another easy one, a pear shape with a pointed end
Heart: need we say more
Cushion: more rectangular Radiant, also with rounded edges

You are now equipped with the basic knowledge you need to begin your search. Most importantly, buy a ring that personifies your lady and is something she’ll be proud to flash around for the rest of her days.

First of all, let us just say you should give yourself a pat on the back for making this step. Though it seems a pretty obvious one in getting married, there are actually a lot of guys that don’t ask her father/mother/parents for their bride-to-be’s hand in marriage before popping the question. It is a big sign of respect and will score you definite points in the family. If you don’t ask, or are really afraid to ask, chances are it’s because you are aware of some ill feelings towards you on her family’s behalf. If this is the case, we strongly encourage you to forgo your discomfort and sit down with her old man (or woman). If they don’t like you, it’s not going to get any better if you don’t ask, but if you do, they may view it as the sign of respect and appreciation that it is and look at you in a whole new light.

if you’re the golden boy we think you are, then you don’t need to worry about any of that, you just need to take it easy and simple. If her dad is the appropriate person to ask in her family, we highly suggest having some one-on-one time with him, or if you can swing it, including mom is always a great choice, too. If you can get them alone without your girlfriend then number one obstacle down. Number two; you gotta choke the words out. We suggest the simple, easy route of telling them the truth: explain how much you love their daughter and would love nothing more than to make her happy for the rest of your lives. From that point on it’s pretty unscripted but generally, expect hugs, handshakes, possibly some tears and definitely big smiles. If (and when) all goes as planned, you’ll feel like you’re walkin’ on clouds (or sunshine, whatever you prefer).

Warren St. John, from The New York Times had these memorable words to say about the bow tie, “to its devotees the bow tie suggests iconoclasm of an Old World sort, a fusty adherence to a contrarian point of view. The bow tie hints at intellectualism, real or feigned, and sometimes suggests technical acumen, perhaps because it is so hard to tie. Bow ties are worn by magicians, country doctors, lawyers and professors and by people hopoing ot look like the above. But perhaps most of all, wearing a bow tie is a way of broadcasting an aggressive lack of concern for what other people think.”

Although the necktie is more prominent in today’s society, being seen at business meetings, formal functions, schools, and sometimes even at home, the bow tie is making a comeback with fun-formal events such as dinner, cocktail parties and nights out on the town. Bow ties, especially narrow “string ties,” are still popular with men of all ages in the American South. It is also still much more common to wear a bow tie with a dinner jacket than it is to wear a necktie with one; the latter, in fact, is technically incorrect.

Either way you’re wearing a piece of distinguished history, on this, one of YOUR utmost important and historical days.

So, here you go brave one, a few of the bow ties that have caught our fancy.

First up is an Etsy listing from Baconneckwear for a custom handmade bow tie. ($20)

The chaps over at Brooklyn Circus are doing things right, with just the right amount of character. These bow ties are reversible, which basically means you get twice the cool, twice the style and twice as many looks all for one price.

If you happen to be one of the lucky few with a Bentley or Rolls in the family, we say take full advantage! If it happens to be super old school, even better: this is a classic wedding mobile. There is just that something about old luxury that exudes class and fantasy. If your great-uncle Hubert doesn’t have a Bentley or Rolls but a sweet Chevelle (or anything of the like) that he’s kept nice and souped up, these are definitely cool, memorable and economical choices as wedding transportation. Not only will you get some rad pictures, but you’ll keep your cost down. InGroom definitely suggests hiring a driver, using your best man, or if someone in your family feels so inclined, that could work too. Just make sure they wear white gloves.

Who doesn’t love a good roast? This isn’t the ’70s, so we’re not talking about a giant slab of beef. The roast we’re talking about is the laugh-til-you-cry kind of night that only the best of friends can evoke from one another. This roast is the kind of trash-talking, all-in-fun ripping to shreds that those sensitive types would imagine to be their worst nightmare. For a bunch of dudes, the idea of a roast is epic. We can just picture it now: a whole mess of awesome food, every kind of alcohol ever desired, and only the best of friends taking turns absolutely annihilating the groom. Your friends have seen through good times and bad and have all the ammunition in the world to make you crumble at your roast. It’s the ultimate sign of flattery– your best friends ripping you to pieces. Don’t worry, there will definitely be a chance to get them back.

Alright, Romeo, your day has come. If you have lofty ideas about how you’re going to propose to Juliet and refuse to settle for anything less than screams, tears and awwwwwwe-evoking romanticism, we will do what we can to help. Romantic=thoughtful and thoughtful=thinking. Yes, it means you’re going to have to think. A recent tale heard by inGroom tells of a man proposing to his lady love outside Starbucks on their first anniversary, the same place they had their first date. He brought along a cake and asked her to open the box. On the cake was a picture of his hand holding a ring box, and when she realized what it meant and turned around, he was on his knee and proposing. Needless to say, the Starbucks crowd ignored their cell phones and lattes for a moment and were swept up in the romanticism of it all. This dude did his homework and THOUGHT about what place had a lot of meaning to them as a couple and then went the extra creative step with the cake.

The key to being romantic is creativity. To avoid the cheesiness that can often accompany the idea of romance is to be thoughtful and choose something meaningful to her or the both of you as a couple. For example, PostSecret.com had some proposal stories in which a chap knew that his lady loved to look at that specific site and would check it every Sunday when it was updated. He sent in a postcard that she would recognize that said, “Will You Marry Me”, and when she turned around from the computer, he was down on one knee with the ring. Another option is to utilize any talents you possess. If you’re a musician, write her a song. If you’re an artist, create something unique for her. If you’re a writer, write her a poem or create a storybook about the two of you and at the end, have the proposal. You see where we’re going with this.

Some links can be found at The Knot . Beware: “romantic”= horribly cheesy in some of these, read them for their humor as well as their helpfulness!
